Thanks for the best male leadership I have ever experienced James Hunt, Slad
This weekend is for any man that is interested in spending time with other men for the purpose of developing supportive friendship within a context of consciousness. Women are naturally good at allowing themselves a network of friends with whom they can share, get reflection and support. Men are less used to this, and much of men’s social contact is often around alcohol, sport, competition or work.
There is nothing wrong with this, but increasingly, many men realise they are losing out on the support they need to be the man, father, partner, colleague, friend they know in their hearts they are capable of being. It is surprisingly commonly said now, even in mainstream media that ‘man is in crisis’, and surveys show that men are more often than not unhappy with their lives.
Tackling this requires looking underneath the superficial advice found in the media
and Internet, to investigate for themselves, with like-
For anyone that is remotely interested and has not experienced mens work before,
I highly recommend coming along to an event -
When we meet for a day or weekend, there is a focus as well as general sharing. The
next group focus is a live exploration of (non sexual) friendship between men. Most
men have a number of mates, but few, sometimes no ‘good friends’ or ‘real friends’
(does this mean someone we can be real and trust them to be real with us?). It’s
common for men in relationships that work to say their partner or wife is their ‘best
friend’, so is there still place for a man-
During this weekend we will explore and further our friendship with the other men attending, and take away lessons we can apply with old and new friends. There will be both outside time in nature and circle work, you will leave deeply refreshed and ready to live more intimately with both men and women. The men and women will meet up on both days, so there will be an opportunity to reflect on the experience with the women (who will be exploring a similar subject).
The inspiration for this circle comes from our current ongoing relationship work with both ‘Joyful Loving’ and ‘Being With All That Is’ ongoing groups. Many of the men at this weekend will have sat in many Secret Garden Men’s Circles, which means anyone less used to them can be sure of a warm welcome, safe holding and the opportunity to learn and grow from relating with men who have been exploring mens and relationship work for some time.
You are warmly invited to a weekend which will leave you more able than ever to relate in a deeply fulfilling and real way with other men, and therefore women.
I’d be happy to talk to any men considering attending if they need to – please write to me c/o Joy if so, and we’ll set up a phone call .
Thanks to Tim for his graceful, quiet presence and the space he created in the men’s group
